March is Water Month in South Africa.

With the "Woolies water challenge" videos such as the one above trending on social media, quite the buzz has been created around the theme of water.

Water certainly has the power to transform our lives. It is important this Water Month to remember the vital role that water plays in sustainable development.

In South Africa particularly, we must remember that many still lack access to fresh potable water, that many girls and women  walk far distances to gain access to water, and that water related accidents and diseases still continue to take lives before their time.
Also of vital import is the fact that South Africa is a water scarce country.
As such, we need to continue to address wasteful behavior and promote innovation to improve efficient use of this vital resource.
